1. Identify One Rule That Changes Teacher Behavior

As a future educator I would use TED Talk's in my class to present or support different ideas. In the TED Talk Usage Policy, there is section that talks about using TED Talk videos in blog posts in full. You must use the speakers full video if you are writing a blog post about a specific idea a TED Talk speaker is expressing. This rule is to protect the integrity of the speakers ideas. For teachers, if they want their students to use a TED Talk then they must include the full idea/video from the website in order to protect the original speaker. If a teacher wanted the students to read a blog post they made for a specific assignment then they must remember to have the students watch the whole video individually or show the class the full video before or after reading.

2. Apply It To Your Teaching Area

The TED Talk Usage Policy would affect my teaching to keep an eye for my older elementary students, as I am K-4th grade, when they would possibly making a blog post for a class assignment. Blog posts are a good alternative for writing essays to give students more creativity, but with this creativity means making the students aware of how to be technologically aware of using work or ideas they may seen online. I would want students to experience working with TED Talks to experience different ideas, but sharing these ideas have to be in full in order for the students to hear the full argument, according to the TED Talk Usage Policy.

3. Fair Use vs Platform Rules

This policy can still limit how I would present the TED Talk video because if I share the video through a site or blog post I found about a specific topic then I would have to present the full video in order to give the speaker integrity to their idea in its entirety. I am limited to how I find specific TED Talk because of their policies on websites and blog post that introduce or reference TED Talks. This also affected how students can share information they find from a TED Talk on a website and blog post for an assignment, more towards older elementary students.

1. Your Learning Story:

           As a learner, I have always enjoyed learning in school as I was good at remembering information for the assignments and tests given. I noticed school was a constant in my life that gave me a skill to do daily, so I believe I was a good students who did all my work. It took my years to understand how I learn the best, but in college I learned how to grasp information about my learning from collegial books, to take notes, and realize what kind of lectures work for my brain to grasp information. For me, it’s easier to remember class information if I write down notes to refer back to, but not every class is a notes/lecture type of class. I am challenged in the education department to be more hand-on for the type of career path. I am starting to shift my learning skills to be more hands-on, but taking small notes or reminders help me remember what to do during my education classes.
